Treatments with hypnosis

book Hypnosis the Key to Self-EmpowermentThis book offers the most up-to-date overview of hypnotherapy treatments and explains in very clear language how hypnosis works. At the same time, the authors settle once and for all the misconceptions about hypnosis, mainly caused by movies and hypnosis shows. There are many innovative, modern techniques within hypnosis. As long as research is conducted, the techniques will continue to evolve. Scientific research shows that hypnosis and hypnotherapy are cost-effective in the medical context. Hypnosis is effective in reducing pain during surgery or at the dentist. The scientific literature shows positive results in psychology when it comes to releasing fears and phobias and treating depression and burnout. The book discusses these and numerous other scientific studies on hypnosis.

Hypnosis and quantum physics

The section looking at hypnosis from the perspective of quantum physics adds depth to this book. According to quantum physics, atoms consist of only 0.00001% of what we call matter. The remaining 99.99999% is intelligent emptiness, which we could think of as our consciousness. What if researchers focused more on this 99.9999%? Also interesting is the explanation of how normal consciousness functions relative to the subconscious, from the point of view of hypnosis. Read more about emotions and why they are so important. By tapping into the neuroplasticity of our brain, hypnosis helps solve depression, burnout and other mental problems. It is precisely this resilience of our brains that makes hypnosis work so quickly and effectively.

Applications of hypnosis

The number of applications of hypnosis and hypnotherapy is extensive. The authors explain how self-hypnosis helps reduce or resolve stress. Hypnosis works to address eating problems, smoking cessation, sleep problems, fears and phobias, and numerous other problems. A fairly recent development is that of using hypnosis in hospitals. One of the most startling applications is that of eliminating pain. There are already hospitals in Europe and elsewhere in the world that use hypnosis as a natural anesthetic in surgery. In addition, hypnosis can be helpful in fertility problems, pregnancy and childbirth, first aid and migraines. The authors discuss how hypnosis provides important support for pain, stress symptoms of serious illnesses such as cancer.

Hypnosis for children

With chapters devoted to hypnosis for children and for the elderly, the authors demonstrate their expertise and dedication to their craft. They describe problems such as bedwetting, sensitive children, busy children (ADHD), being bullied, the elderly with dementia and palliative care. Very worth reading is the history of hypnosis, which is described through a number of important figures in the field, including James Braid, Sigmund Freud, Dave Elman, Milton Erickson, Ernest Hilgard and Gerald Kein. The book concludes with a number of client testimonials.

A lot of books have been written about hypnosis – some of them even contain correct information. This book by Ina Oostrom, Simona Linskens and Vijay Sharma stands out as one of the most important books of recent years, correctly explaining the world of hypnosis and hypnotherapy (in which hypnosis is used to bring about positive changes; physical, mental or spiritual). It covers a wide range of topics that influence or have influenced hypnosis – quantum physics, theory of mind, belief system, energy fields, DNA factors, societal belief systems, to name a few. The book also provides an excellent overview of the history of modern hypnosis. Most importantly, the authors attempt to correct the imbalance – in literature, not so much in practice – between the Ericksonian form of hypnosis and Dave Elman’s hypnosis techniques. Both are super-important figures for the development of modern hypnosis, but as the authors point out, for some reason Dave Elman is almost absent from the literature on modern hypnosis. Which in itself is of course remarkable, since his methods and treatments have been used by hypnotherapists worldwide. This book attempts to correct that imbalance with explanations and descriptions of the many techniques used today that actually come from Dave Elman’s ideas. The main reason to read this book is that all the information is just right: the concepts, the methods and the modern world of hypnosis; regardless of trends, types or brands. This book is clear and direct in its explanations. For anyone who wants to understand hypnosis, modern hypnosis or hypnotherapy, and for experiencers who want a sincere and clear account of modern hypnotherapy and hypnosis, this is the book to read. Highly recommended!

Ines Simpson, award-winning hypnotherapist and certified instructor of hypnosis

Hypnosis the Key to Self-Empowerment is an excellent and comprehensive work that explains everything a non-hypnotist should know about this subject.

If you want to understand hypnosis, how it works and what hypnosis can do to promote your mental and physical well-being, you need to read this book!

Sean Michael Andrews, award-winning hypnotist, master practitioner of neuro-linguistic programming and certified life coach

This is one of the most comprehensive books on hypnosis I have ever read. The authors not only delve into the stand-alone hypnosis techniques, but also outline the overall picture of how hypnosis works and why it works. Even if you don’t know much about hypnosis, if you have read this book you will understand the power of hypnosis and how it can help you with many mental and medical problems, how it can help children overcome their challenges. It also describes many other applications. The authors use many metaphors from everyday life. That familiarity makes it very easy to understand how your subconscious influences your thoughts, emotions and the functions of your body. Numerous studies confirm what the authors describe in their book. They show that the hypnotic state is not a supernatural or manipulative state, but a natural state that everyone experiences every day, without being aware of it. This book is dedicated to one of the most underappreciated hypnotists and founders of modern hypnosis, Dave Elman. And to Gerald Kein, who improved Dave Elman’s methods. Both deserve more recognition as their methods and techniques are unique and help thousands of people from all over the world. I have met one of the authors, Ina Oostrom, several times. She is not only one of the most intelligent people I know, but she also has a big heart. She contributes immensely to the world of hypnosis. I heartily recommend her as a hypnotherapist and OMNI hypnosis instructor. You should read this book if you are interested in finding a natural way of solving your problems, if you are looking for scientific information about hypnosis, and if you want to expand your current knowledge about hypnosis.

It is an honor to write a review of a book that represents the totality of hypnosis, one of the most powerful methods that exists in this world. Hypnosis is the portal to what is happening within and around us and can unlock many secrets of our subconscious and even our soul. When I was 20 years old, I had a near-death experience. After a severe car accident, I fell into a coma. My body was taken to intensive care while I had an experience in another world. A world I can describe as incredibly peaceful and pleasant. It felt like I was at home. I had no desire to go back to my life as a medical student in training to become a surgeon; my dream. This new world was fascinating and addictive. At one point I was approached by some beings who looked like magicians from a Hollywood movie. I was kindly but urgently requested to go back and complete my mission. There was no room for discussion and a moment later I was back in my paralyzed body, wondering if this was a dream or reality. My dream of becoming a surgeon was, after this serious accident, in tatters. I became interested in alternative medicine and became an acupuncturist and, a few years later, a hypnotist. This was because I was looking for answers that science could not give me. In hypnosis I found the answers about life, why we are here, where we came from and much more. In hypnosis we go through a portal that leads us to past experiences and future visions, so we discover the real reasons why we are experiencing what we are experiencing. The moment we are through the portal in hypnosis and arrive in “all that is,” we see many doors that can take us anywhere. To the memory bank of this life, where we find things we have forgotten and the causes of our feelings and reactions. Here we communicate with our soul, with our higher consciousness, with our body intelligence and even with other intelligences we didn’t even know existed. This book Hypnosis the Key to Self-Power is one of the first books to give us a glimpse of the unlimited possibilities hypnosis has to offer. Hypnosis will liberate our potential in ways that many hypnotherapists have no idea yet. My wife Joy has opened a door through hypnosis that connects her to her guides, her higher consciousness, her soul and the vast wealth of information about past, future and other dimensions. She is my go-to oracle whenever I have an important question. Now you too can discover how this is possible through this book. I recommend it to anyone who is interested in the mystery of the human being and wants to know more about themselves. I hope this book will be read by many who want to know more. With respect and compliments to the authors of this beautiful and easy to read book! Roy Martina, holistic physician, bestselling author of the book Emotional Balance
